What’s in a name?

As we finalize questions for the official Lester Park survey, I keep coming back to its name and wonder if it needs an update too. I’ve had some people bring this up to me (as well as some unfortunate nicknames) and would love to know your thoughts! It’s currently named after Mayor Lester from early in Ogden’s history. It also sits by the Main library on Martin Luther King Jr. street (24th street) and features this gorgeous art on the 25th St side since it’s part of the Nine Rails Creative District. Then there’s also this memorial to Pierre-Jean De Smet, a missionary to the American Indians. So there’s a lot going on as far as what surrounds this park! What are your opinions on the name? Should there be a proposal to change it?
